This is a community engagement research pilot that involves and empowers the participants to be an active component of their healthcare by getting free comprehensive cardiometabolic health screenings at community health fairs. The goal is to strengthen individual, community, and collaborative partnerships to address multiple barriers such as language and access to healthcare, and to hasten community health equity transformation. We plan to provide point of care screenings where the community is located instead of the traditional outpatient setting in order to improve access to healthcare. By screening at community health fairs with objective risk stratification metric values we hope to improve preventive healthcare in the underserved Nashville Latino community.
Build stronger partnerships with the Nashville Latino community regarding their preventive medical needs
Train Community Health Workers (CHW) to conduct health screenings using field diagnostic technologies
Increase access to healthcare and utilization of resources via point-of care on-demand health screening activities.
